Lionel Roland Marquis, 77, of Athens, passed away peacefully at his home in Athens, Maine, surrounded by his family.
He was born June 19, 1940, in Hamlin, Maine, the son of Wilfed Marquis and Olive (Cole) Marquis Hamilton.
He graduated from a Hartford, CT high school.
Lionel sold insurance for Combined Insurance Company, he worked as a chef and for several years he worked as an EMT in Hartford, CT.
For 44 years, Lionel was an Elvis Presley impersonator singing Elvis' songs all over including Myrtle Beach, SC., Quebec City and in competitions...

Lionel Roland Marquis, 77, of Athens, passed away peacefully at his home in Athens, Maine, surrounded by his family.
He was born June 19, 1940, in Hamlin, Maine, the son of Wilfed Marquis and Olive (Cole) Marquis Hamilton.
He graduated from a Hartford, CT high school.
Lionel sold insurance for Combined Insurance Company, he worked as a chef and for several years he worked as an EMT in Hartford, CT.
For 44 years, Lionel was an Elvis Presley impersonator singing Elvis' songs all over including Myrtle Beach, SC., Quebec City and in competitions making his own Elvis Suits. His band played at the Briarwood in Jackman, Maine.
Lionel was a member of the fraternal order of Eagles Club in Skowhegan. He loved to eat donuts and going to corner store in Athens in the morning to spend time with the guys.
He is survived by his children Duane Marquis of Madison, Steve Marquis of Skowhegan, Daniel Marquis of TX, Ellen Sawyer, Denise Spooner; many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; he also his friend of many years and personal care provider Delores Marquis of Athens.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Viewing hours will be held on Monday September 11, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday September 12, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the East Skowhegan Cemetery in Skowhegan, Maine.
